Long-Term Number Rental, Explained

When you rent a number, it is reserved for you alone for the whole term. Nobody else can buy it, every SMS it receives is yours, and services that text you twice — a code today, a security alert next month — keep reaching the same place.

What you can do with it

• Run accounts that periodically re-verify: banking apps, marketplaces, delivery platforms.
• Receive two-factor login codes for weeks without touching a SIM.
• Give out a working number while keeping your personal one private.
• Register a business presence in another country.

How the term works

USA rentals run on fixed terms from a single day to a full year. Every other country rents by the week or month, up to three of each. The total price is shown before you commit — long rentals earn a discount in many countries, and the discount is itemised in your order summary.

When the term ends the number returns to the pool. Anything already verified on it keeps working, but new codes stop arriving — so extend before expiry if the account still needs its number.

Rental or one-time?

If you need one code and will never think about the account again, a one-time number is cheaper. If the account has a balance, a reputation, or any chance of asking for re-verification, the rental pays for itself the first time it saves the account.
