Telegram is one of the easiest services to verify with a virtual number — with one trap that catches almost everyone at least once.

The app-code trap

If a Telegram account already exists for a number, Telegram sends the login code to the app, not by SMS — so a code can never reach your XeroSMS order. Fresh numbers avoid this; if you hit "code sent to your other device", choose the option to send by SMS instead, which Telegram offers after a short wait.

Step by step

1. Buy a Telegram number — it sits in the popular row on the SMS page. Countries differ in price far more than in quality here, so cheap is fine.
2. Enter the number in Telegram and request the code.
3. The SMS lands on your order in seconds; type it in and the account is live.
4. Set a username immediately so people can reach you without the number, and add a two-step password.

Keeping the account

Telegram rarely re-asks for SMS once two-step verification is on, so a one-time number is usually enough. If the account will matter — channels, groups, business contacts — rent the number instead, because a lost session with no reachable number and no password is unrecoverable.
